Dragonette is the stage name of Canadian singer-songwriter Martina Sorbara and the electronic music project she founded in 2005 in Toronto, Ontario. Originally a trio including Sorbara, bassist Dan Kurtz, and drummer Joel Stouffer, Dragonette quickly gained recognition for their high-energy, hook-driven synth-pop and electro-dance sound. The band's breakout came with the 2010 global hit "Hello", a collaboration with French DJ Martin Solveig that showcased their ability to blend infectious melodies with electronic production. Over the years, Dragonette has released multiple albums, including Fixin to Thrill (2009), Bodyparts (2012), and Revelation (2025), demonstrating a progression from dance-pop to more experimental electronic textures. Known for their catchy hooks, playful lyricism, and dynamic live shows, Dragonette has earned a reputation as one of Canada's most distinctive and enduring acts in electronic and synth-pop music.
