NIKKI PAYNE, w/ Jeff McEnery & Laurie Elliot.
NIKKI PAYNE is a comedienne who hails from Nova Scotia and is one of Canada’s most original comics. Her no holds barred style of comedy, and lisp are two things which make Nikki Payne standout as an innovator in the Canadian comedy scene.
She is the recipient of three Canadian Comedy Awards and two nominations for Gemini’s. Her Comedy Inc special on CTV was one of the networks most viewed. She has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and is a regular on Much Music’s Video on Trial.
JEFF MCENERY will be your middle performer. Hailing from Acton, Ontario, Jeff has quickly established himself as one of the fastest-rising stars in Canadian comedy. He is a graduate of Humber College's Comedy: Writing and Performance Program and won the college's Best First Year Stand-Up Award in 2004. In 2005, Jeff won the prestigious "Tim Sims Encouragement Award" and followed that up by winning "Yuk Yuk's $25,000 Great Canadian Laugh Off." in 2006 and “Best Stand-Up Newcomer” at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Awards. Currently the youngest performer touring for Yuk Yuk's, Jeff has already appeared at the "Halifax Comedy Festival", the "Winnipeg Comedy Festival", the "Just for Laughs Comedy Festival" and the "Global ComedyFest" in Vancouver.
JAMIE STEPHENS, one of the brantNOW owners will make his comedy debut. As a fan boy of Canadian comedy, Jamie has been working hard on his material during Yuk Yuk's Amateur Nights,and bugging his Comedian friends for feedback. Will he bomb? Probably... but that's part of the fun.
LAURIE ELLIOT will be your MC, Laurie has made a name for herself as one of the most versatile and fun to watch entertainers in Canada. She is a winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award and received the 2004 and 2006 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Stand Up. She also has a Gemini Award nomination for ensemble cast on The Red Green Show.
Her stand up credits include the Toronto and Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, where she recently appeared in a television gala, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Vancouver Comedy Festival, the Hubcap Comedy Festival in Moncton, the Comedy Factory in Rotterdam, Raw Comedy Club in Stockholm, and a gala run at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival in South Africa.
