And when she’s talking about London’s own Genevieve Fisher, the package might be small at five foot nothin’ – but the voice, stage presence, passion and talent are as big as they come.
“I’m very impressed with Genevieve,” said Schott, who’s spent the last 12 years writing and co-writing songs for some of the biggest names in country music, including Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Lonestar and Billy Ray Cyrus.
“I think she’s the entire package – she’s a great writer, a great singer, she has a wonderful personality and she’s really comfortable on stage . . . the whole package. She’s a really talented girl and I think she’s got a bright future.”
It’s clear organizers of the Canadian Country Music Awards agree. They’ve selected Fisher – who London-area country-music fans have seen on stage at a number of festivals and concerts over the last few years – to perform in the CCMA’s New Artist Showcase in Saskatoon Sept. 6 leading up to the awards.”
