The Headstones are a seminal Canadian punk-influenced rock band that originated in Kingston, Ontario, in 1989, carving out a distinctive place in the country's rock music landscape with their gritty, high-energy sound and irreverent lyrical style. Led by the unmistakable vocals of Hugh Dillon, the band's lineup has featured Trent Carr on guitar, Dale Harrison on drums, and Tim White on bass, with each member contributing to the band's raw, powerful musical identity. Over the years, the Headstones have blended elements of punk, hard rock, and alternative rock to create music that is both aggressive and melodic, often exploring themes of personal struggle, societal critique, and relational tension. Their debut album, Picture of Health (1993), introduced audiences to their bold, unapologetic approach, while subsequent releases such as Smile and Wave (1996), Nickels for Your Nightmares (2000), and Love + Fury (2013) showcased their evolution in songwriting and sound. After an initial breakup in 2003, the band reunited in 2011, reinvigorating their presence on the Canadian music scene and continuing to captivate fans with both classic hits and new material.
