Kathleen Welch is a versatile Canadian theatre artist, composer, and performer whose work spans composition, direction, performance, playwriting, costume design, and sound design. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, she has contributed to a wide range of productions, including SAMCA (2024), where she served as composer, playwright, costume designer, and performer, and Suddenly, Last Summer (2023), where she was composer, director, costume designer, and sound designer. Her onstage roles include Prava in SAMCA, The Newlywed Woman in The Rear Window (2019), Catherine in Widow's Wedding Dress (2017), and Saturninus in Titus Andronicus (2016), demonstrating her versatility and range as a performer. Kathleen is also a founding member of the Spindle Collective, a collaborative group focused on promoting gender- and equity-centered creative work. Her projects are recognized for their innovative integration of music, narrative, and design, reflecting a holistic approach to theatre-making.
