About Tom Cochrane and Red Rider

Tom Cochrane and Red Rider is a Canadian rock band that rose to prominence in the late 1970s and 1980s, initially known simply as Red Rider before adopting Cochrane's name as the group gained fame. Hailing from Toronto, the band blended melodic rock with socially conscious lyrics, producing hits like Lunatic Fringe, Victory Day, Human Race, and Boy Inside the Man, which became staples of Canadian rock radio. With Tom Cochrane on lead vocals, Ken Greer on guitar, Jeff Jones on bass, Rob Baker on drums, and a rotating lineup of keyboardists and synthesizer players, the group developed a reputation for tight musicianship and energetic live performances, playing arenas, festivals, and large halls across Canada. Over the course of their career, they released nine albums, earning critical acclaim and a Juno Award for group of the year in 1987.
