Musathena is usually an all-woman Early Music band, but this year its two core players - Valerie Sylvester and Sheila Smyth (both of the well-known Period Instrument orchestra Nota Bene Baroque) are fortunate to have one of the world's most distinguished teachers and performers of the Viol da Gamba, Philip Serna, with them, along with the harpsichordist and sometimes music director of Nota Bene, Borys Medicky, harpsichord. Their program will consist mainly of music from Holland from the high Baroque era. We don't have details yet, but the Netherlands were the source of much musical activity in the Baroque, and rest assured that fans of Baroque Music won't be disappointed!
Cutoff is Sunday, September 28, 2014 3:59 pm EST unless it sells out earlier.
