The Ontario Musicians Association is pleased to be part of the Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival this year by presenting a fundraising concert of Live Music. As we swing into Summer and embrace the season, you can Join us on June 18, 2016 at Grace United Church for a wonderful evening of jazzy musical entertainment. This concert is designed to support the Rhythm & Pitch program that offers low-cost group music instruction to kids, some of whom may become amazing musicians or educators. The show will feature Sam Ruttan’s Jazz Quartet, a group of students from York University who are studying and playing together as they pursue their music education. Also in the show will be Sandra Ruttan, singing some Summery songs in a duo with one of Barrie’s finest singer/songwriters, Edward Moll. No coincidence about the Ruttan name, Sandra is the founder of the Rhythm & Pitch music program and also happens to be Sam’s mom in a very musical family. Ed Moll will take centre stage to perform some of his own songs. He is no stranger to the performing arts, having been married to his guitar, as he says, for 35 years. His material is fresh and very entertaining. Light refreshments and a brief overview of Rhythm & Pitch are all part of this easy-going, fun-filled evening.
