RUNA is a multi-award winning band, with two Irish Music Awards (Top Group and Top Traditional Group) and two Independent Music Awards for Best Traditional/World Song and Best Bluegrass Song, among others! The band’s latest “Live" album was released in August 2016. Prior to that Runa released the album, "Current Affairs," in June 2014, with three Grammy award-winning guest artists: Ron Block (Alison Krauss & Union Station), Buddy Greene (Bill Gaither), and Jeff Taylor (Elvis Costello, Paul Simon)! In addition to Irish and Scottish material, this album has significant bluegrass influences, as well. "Current Affairs" was nominated for "Best New CD" for the Irish Music Awards! Also, RUNA was the featured artist in the October 2014 Issue of the Irish Music Magazine and was the featured artist, again, in October 2016: http://www.irishmusicmagazine.com/ RUNA's international line-up hails from Ireland, Nashville, Philadelphia, and Canada. The band has played with Riverdance, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Fiddlers' Bid, Solas, Clannad, Moya Brennan, Eileen Ivers, Téada, and many others. The band tours nationally, including performances at the Ryman Auditorium, the National Geographic Museum, the Musical Instrument Museum, and at top Irish and Folk music festivals in the States and Canada.
