Back by popular demand. Sound considerations for Independent filmmakers.
Did you know that deprivation of the senses pushes focus to your storytelling as much as the most beautifully orchestrated score? From script to the final sound mix, there are many overlooked elements of sound production that will render a film’s story arc successful or unsuccessful in the mind of an audience. From start to finish, learn the intricate details of sound production that will enable your story to live up to its full potential and advance your professional portfolio.
SEMINAR BY: Supervising Sound Editor, Gemini Award winner - For the past 22 years, Mark Vogelsang has captivated listeners with sonic storytelling, engaging them and inviting all to join him in his explorations within the world of sound. From the flutter of the smallest butterfly wing to the booming resonance of a vintage engine, he exemplifies a respectful relationship between a soundtrack and a moving image. Mark’s sound design has been heard at every major film festival around the globe, earning him a Gemini Award, as well as the Award of Distinction in Sound Design at the Wild Rose Film Festival in the United States. An active volunteer in the local sound community as both a technical and creative engineer, Mark currently holds the positions of Supervising Sound Editor at Farmhouse Creative Labs in Toronto, and Director of Sound Design at the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology in London, Ontario.
