WORKING WITH TALENT: GETTING THE BEST FROM YOUR ACTORS

How do you get an excellent on-camera performance from an inexperienced cast?  How do you find the right performer for your film?  A panel of directors and performers will discuss the finer points of getting the most natural performance on film.

MODERATED BY:  ROBBIN MCDONNELL, President of Visual Artists Management.

OUR EXPERT OF PANEL INCLUDES:

PENNY EIZENGA, award-winning, Toronto-based independent filmmaker.  She has recently directed the short films Martin’s Hagge (2016) and The Run (2014), which won an Award of Merit in the Best Shorts Competition in La Jolla, California. She has also written and starred in two award-winning shorts: Wilderness (2011) and Margaret Finds Her Mojo (2014). https://www.dogearedproductionsinc.com

She has produced and starred in a variety of path-breaking media projects, such as her TV series, Katie Chats (in which she has held over 3000 interviews with luminaries including David Cronenberg), and recently, comedic short Pyramid Scream (2015), which won the Festival Director Award at the Toronto Independent Film Festival. She’s currently directing and starring in her (co-created, co-written) comedic TV series My Roommate’s an Escort. https://myroommatesanescort.com
