Our second concert of the series - June 3rd at 2:00 - features the Payadora Tango Ensemble. Lead by the brilliant violinist Rebecca Wolkstein, whom we last heard in Georgetown with the Burning Bridge String Quartet, this ensemble also features Branco Dzinovic on accordian/bandoneon, Robert Horvath piano, and Joseph Phillips double bass. Drawing from eclectic backgrounds in Classical, Jazz, Latin, Eastern European folk music, and improvisation, Payadora’s performances exude technical virtuosity, playful spontaneity, and rhythmic vitality.
