KWCMS has for twenty years and more supported the enterprising K-W Community Orchestra, which provides an outlet for the musical talents ofe non-professional musicians in the area. Their amateur personnel often come up with lively and well-played concerts.
This year the special piece will be BACH's fabulous Brandenburg Concerto no. 5, with special guest artist Heidi Wall handling the fiendish piano part - the first-ever long and demanding cadenza on our Steineway (note a harpsichord, sorry - but shucks, it'll be interesting!); Heidi'd own mom, Jacqueline Wall, does the violin solo, and Rachel Prichard, flute
Other works: MASSENET's popular gorgeous Meditation from the opera Thais; SHOSTAKOVICH, Romance for violin and piano HANDEL, viola concerto (piano acc.); ELGAR, Serenade for Strings; CAPUCCI, Bass concerto; KEN KOSOW, Bass Quartet
Three SEA CHANTIES for four-hands piano
Enjoy this terrific variety of pieces played by some twenty participants of the KWCO (and friends)
