JERUSALEM IN MY HEART (http://cstrecords.com/jerusalem-in-my-heart/)
Constellation Records duo of Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (sounds & compositions) & Charles-André Coderre (live visuals) celebrate the release of their 3rd full length "Daqa’iq Tudaiq". The duo melds traditional & contemporary Arabic music with electronic processing & programming out of some dark 70's film score. Lonely acapella ballads rest amongst processed buzuk instrumentals and acoustic meanderings. Writhing electronics billow until they burn out, leaving only the chants of distant chimes. Flute whistles birth beautiful drones that sprawl over time & space. Psych influences dance with new traditionalism in a marriage of noisey electronics, acoustic shredding and abstract percussion.
SARAH PAGÉ (http://www.sarahpageharp.com)
Montreal experimental harpist Sarah Pagé (The Barr Brother, Esmerine) builds beautiful ambient drones out of processed harp notes. Slow moving structures full of rich intertwining sonic textures. Bass tones sink and rumble, as waves travel up the frequency scale. Plucked notes ripple out with sparse melodic joy. This sounds like avant-garde campfire music. Pagé touches on a lot of interconnected sound worlds, capturing the feels of folk, post rock, classical composition, new age and ambient soundscapes, but never settles for a singular view. A not to be missed transformative experience!
