Waterloo’s Penderecki String Quartet and Italy’s Duo Alterno present a concert featuring two world premieres including Piacentini’s new work for piano, soprano, and string quartet and “Four Hundred for Four”, a new work for the PSQ created by four Italian composers. The evening will also feature Ligeti’s “String Quartet No.1”, excerpts from Gyorgy Kurtag’s monumental “Kafka Fragments”, and the world premiere of a new Passion-themed work by Christos Hatzis titled String Quartet No. 4 (The Suffering).
