A rich and affectionate biographical portrait of Canadian composer Marjan Mozetich, Jamie Day Fleck’s film pays tribute to a beautiful life that has yielded a vast abundance of beautiful music, too. Named after the Juno-nominated concerto for violin and string orchestra that became one of Mozetich’s best-loved works, AFFAIRS OF THE HEART combines testimonials by its subject’s many friends and collaborators with scenes that reveal the creative process for the widely acclaimed composer, ARRAYMUSIC co-founder and longtime Queen’s professor. Fleck also gives Mozetich ample opportunity to reflect on the relationships, experiences and journeys – both worldly and spiritual – that have long inspired the uncommonly joyful and sensuous music he has been creating for over four decades.
