The Penderecki Quartet ranks on the very top rung of Canadian Chamber Ensembles. They have performed the world over, and have been In Residence at the Wilfrid Laurier University since 1991. Daniel Lichti has one of the world's prestigious voices - and has performed this great song cycle many times. He has been on the staff at WLU's Faculty of Music for more than thirty years.
SCHUBERT'S WINTERREISE - is universally regarded as the greatest of all song cycles. It is originally for voice with piano, of course. Tonight's concert features a new arrangement for string quartet and voice, which should be fascinating.
