Penny Johnson is oddly little-known in her native Canada - despite her earning a Doctorate at the New York Manhattan School of Music - perhaps because she still lives here, in Mississauga. Luckily, we found out about her two years ago and engaged her to perform most of Bach's amazing Art of Fugue. More amazing still, she included her own masterly completion of the unfinished final fugue - easily the most successful such effort that I have heard of.
So we are delighted to be bringing her back in Bach's immortal Goldberg Variations - plus a selection of preludes/fugues from both books of the Well-Tempered Clavier. Bach fans, take note!
