Former Globe and Mail journalist, Orland French, is an entertaining speaker whose wry wit injects life into dusty history. A resident of Belleville, he is past-president of the Hastings County Historical Society and a former director of the Ontario Historical Society. He is also a recipient of the Governor-General’s Caring Canadian Award, caring about both people and history. He is the author of a number of history books including Wind, Water, Barley and Wine – the story of how geography has shaped the history of Prince Edward County.
