Join us for an adventure with wine and food! Michelle be leading us through a wine and food tasting. She will give a brief summary of why food and wine interactions are important considerations and talk about the basics of food and wine interactions. We will then go through the six wines and talk about the very different structural elements (acidity, sweetness, tannin, body). Finally, we will play with some food and wine and learn how each wine can affect positively, or negatively, the wine. It’s “The Marriage of Food and Wine" - sweet, salt, bitter, sour and how they work - or don’t work - with various styles of wine.
Michelle Paris, founder of Adventure in Wine, views wine as her passion and personal adventure. Her interest was first peaked during one of her earliest memories - a glass of pink champagne - and was captivated by the sparkling bubbles and rosé colour. As she got older, she had the great fortune to travel the world exploring food and wine, which developed her interest and allowed her to experience the art of wine tastings and the culture surrounding wine. It was her travels that inspired her to pursue her impressive education in wine and spirits, She is a Certified Sommelier through both the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS); a graduate of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma Program as well as a Certified WSET Educator. She is also a Professional Fromager. Michelle is currently working towards her Masters of Wine designation.
