SARAH PAGÉ (www.sarahpageharp.com)
Montreal based Sarah Pagé (The Barr Brothers, Lhasa de Sela, Esmerine, etc.) presents her solo debut album of experimental Harp compositions, Dose Curves, to be released on October 11th on Halifax label Backward Music - a mesmerizing sonic journey through a five-track suite, that is also experienced as an equally entrancing and stunning instrumental live performance.
JONI VOID (http://cstrecords.com/joni-void/)
Montreal based music concrete / avant pop artist Joni Void (Constellation Records) celebrates the release of his latest album Mise en Abyme - an introspective, emotional time-travel experiment and "avant-electronic" sound collage, a multi-fold puzzle of samples & field-recordings amid electronic rhythms and intoxicating vocals. Joni Void weaves layers of samples, including piano phrases and fielding recordings into an intricate dance of snipped beats, sweeping loops and subtle jingles. Haunting flourishes become beautiful beats. Abstract rhythms are born out of glitched electronics alongside the swaying reverberations.
JOYFUL JOYFUL (https://thatjoyfulsound.tumblr.com/)
Toronto / Peterborough avant vocal & electronics duo create strange & beautiful soundscapes. Pulling influence from traditional & spiritual vocal musics and merging those with experimental ambient & drone sensibilities. Powerful drone hymns dig up melancholic emotions searching for a hopefully note in a sombre reality.
