Join us as we practice mindfulness through art. Art is a natural way to practice mindfulness. The elements of creating pull us into the moment. Shara McLaren BFA, DTATI Cand. will guide us in mindfulness through an Altered Book Art Workshop. An Altered Book artist takes a book (old, new, recycled) and cuts, tears, glues, burns, folds, paints, adds to, collages, rebinds, gold-leads, creates pop-ups, rubber-stamps, drills, bolts, and/or beribbons it. An Altered Book changes a book from its original form into a different form, thus altering its appearance and/or meaning.
Imagination, personalization and experimentation is the process of art making. It can also be a process to mindfulness.
