The Canadian Celtic Choir is pleased to present a special concert "An Irish Celtic Celebartion" just before St. Patrick's Day.
Our special guests are Stratford-based musicians Dan Stacey (fiddle, step dancing) & Kyle Waymouth (guitar, step dancing). Dan Stacey recorded his first album Crank it back in 2003 and his second titled A 440 (with The Black Swans) was released in 2013. It features an instrumental blend of traditional Canadian and Irish fiddle tunes with ten original Dan Stacey compositions plus a few selections from Turlough O'Carolan's repetoire. National treasures of Ireland, Turlogh O'Carolan's compositions were penned between 1690 and 1738. Originally written for harp O'Carolan's 214 documented melodies have survived the generations through various archives and recordings. His melodies shape nicely to all instruments in the traditional Irish music soundscape with the fiddle being no exception.
The Canadian Celtic Choir is a London-based SATB choir of more than fifty voices and was founded in 1996 to sing and promote Celtic choral music and culture in Southwestern Ontario. The Choir has provided the city of London and surrounding communities with high quality choral music for more than 23 years and has built a solid reputation as one of the most in demand choirs in this area. Since 2010 the CCC has been conducted by William “Bill” Zadorsky and accompanied by Jean Willadsen on piano. Our vocal coach, emcee, and co-conductor is Paul Grambo.
The Canadian Celtic Choir’s repertoire features songs primarily from Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, and the Canadian Maritimes ranging from the traditional (including a few songs sung in Irish, Gaelic and Welsh) to the more contemporary.
