HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR GROCERY GIFT CARDS FOR LOCAL CARE-WORKERS
Ticketscene, located in Kitchener-Waterloo, is a proud Canadian supporter of live music, arts, comedy, festivals, agricultural fairs, and community events. Our event industry has been profoundly impacted by COVID-19 but so have the lives of many caregivers who brave the frontline each day, risking their health and life, working at long term health care homes to support our most vulnerable citizens. Eighty percent (80%) of COVID-19 deaths are occuring in long term care nursing homes. The need to help has never been so urgent.
We know this pandemic disproportionately impacts certain populations and our goal is to directly help and support front-line workers who work at Long-Term Care Homes in Kitchener-Waterloo that have been impacted by COVID cases and deaths.
HOW CAN WE ALL HELP?
Ticketscene will be donating $500 in grocery gift cards to support our frontline heroes across Canada during these hard and stressful times. Please help support our initiative by making a contribution in kind to purchase grocery gift cards from Loblaws to support caregivers and their families. Grocery bills for families can quickly add up, adding more financial stress to their daily struggle.
If you or your business has the capacity to help and want to make a difference in someone's life, please make a donation. Your financial contribution will be used to buy Loblaws gift cards that can be used at any of their 22 market and regional stores such as Zehrs, Loblaws, No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart, The Real Canadian Superstore, and more.
HOW WILL YOUR CONTRIBUTION BE USED?
Your generous contribution will go into a fund that will be used to purchase grocery gift cards for care-workers in Kitchener-Waterloo. Net proceeds after the cost of your credit card transaction will go into the fund and allocated proportionately to each facility based on the number of front-line staff that are employed at each centre. Support staff will receive equal gift card denominations. Ticketscene hopes to distribute the gift cards by June 15, 2020 and will continue to monitor our areas' facilities for new outbreaks and help support staff direclty.
PLEASE SUPPORT GROCERIES FOR HELPING HANDS
Grocery gift cards will serve as a physical reminder of appreciation that the brave work of local support workers at long-term health care facilities is recognized and appreciated by our community.
