Phil & Roxy are a husband-and-wife duo who call themselves Phoxy Music. Their warm harmonies are featured in a vast catalogue of music including original compositions and songs from the 1960’s on up. They have recorded in Nashville with renowned musicians and producer Mark Mosely.
Roxy ‘s background stems from gospel music. She was a regular on a TV show as a child, traveled and recorded internationally with a gospel music band for many years. Some of the stages she has played on include the Grand Ole Opry and The Havelock Jamboree. She has performed regularly and also as a guest artist on TV shows such as 100 Huntley Street, George Hamilton IV Music Hour, Living Truth & more. She has received multiple international music awards & nominations for her song writing. She also was voted Favourite Female Vocalist of the year (5x) from the Canadian Gospel Music Association and the International Maja Awards. When she is not performing with Phil, she sings in the Gospel vocal trio “Daughters of the King”.
Phil has his roots in gospel music as well. He learned to play guitar from his father who sang regularly in church. He is a multi-instrumentalist and has some acting credits. Phil’s influences include Blues, Rock & Roll, Jazz, Reggae and classic R&B. He has performed with a long list of bands in the Toronto area and has performed at the International Blues Competition in Memphis, Tennessee. He currently also plays with the “Raggedy Andys”.
When Phil & Roxy met the air was charged with electricity. Writing music and singing together was a dream come true for the duo. Their latest CD of original music, Pick of the Vine, is a warm mix of R&B, and folk. This CD features their signature song, “Cool Breeze”, which received Canadian Radio Airplay.
