Who is Tanya McCready?
In partnership with her husband Hank DeBruin, Tanya is an entrepreneur, speaker, and international best-selling author. They and their team of dogs have been seen on CTV Canada AM, CNN, Breakfast Television, CBC, and in the Toronto Star, The Globe & Mail, and The New York Times.
In 1999, Tanya and her husband Hank quit their millwright and engineering jobs, rented out their home in Guelph, and with their 7 huskies and 4 cats moved to the wilderness of Haliburton to chase their dream and build their new home, life, and business - Winterdance Dogsled Tours. Part of this dream was to build a long distance race team to compete in "The Last Great Race", Alaska's 1000 mile Iditarod. A race that fewer people have completed than have reached the summit of Mount Everest. A race that Hank attempted in 2010, and due to a phone call did not complete. A race that shredded Hank's dreams and spirit in 2010, but a race that Hank and their team of huskies crossed the finish line of in 2012.
Tanya's keynote is a breathtaking presentation, a message of grit, honesty, enthusiasm, joy, fear, and passion, and will bring out all of your inner emotions. This is a story of taking a leap. A story of overcoming massive setbacks and public failure. A story of the teamwork and leadership principles that made the finish lines, and starting lines, possible.
How can epic 1000 mile Arctic journeys of one man and his team of huskies possibly relate to you and your personal and professional endeavours? You'd be surprised! Tanya will build the bridge between their world and yours, showing that the lessons learned in preparing for any journey are transferable - whether that's a journey across the Arctic with a dogsled team or a journey to a new career or business, or a journey of personal or professional growth.
Through captivating stories, this presentation will impart poignant lessons on leadership and reiterate the importance of goal setting. It will touch upon the power of perseverance through triumphs and failures, the importance of resiliency and teamwork and how each person (and dog) plays a unique and vital role in making it to any finish line.
This is no ordinary story.
Cutoff is Tuesday, September 28, 2021 3:29 pm EST unless it sells out earlier.
