The Fredonia Trio are artists at the State University of New York at Fredonia, and have played widely. Violinist Jessica has played twice in the Music Room. David Rose is known to local symphony-goers as for many years the Principal Violist of the K-W Symphony. New-to-us cellist Natasha Farnhy has a stellar background with degrees from Curtis, Eastman, Yale and Juilliard (DMA). The outstanding event on their program is MOZART's legendary string trio ("Divertimento" - but it's hardly just that!) in Eb. This huge and amazing piece is surely one of Mozart's very greatest creations, and requires enormous interpretive and technical skill. Two other short pieces complete the program: by Federico Mompou, one of Spain's most popular composers of the early 20th C.; and by Caroline Mallonee, "Storm King Suite" for viola and cello (pieces for that combo are rare!)
Cutoff is Friday, October 22, 2021 5:29 pm EST unless it sells out earlier.
