Pascal and Jacques-André are familiars in Quebec, where they concertize frequently. Pascal has a Doctorate from Laval; Jacques-André is a founding member of the Franz-Joseph String Quartet, which has played beautifully in our Music Room. He plays the viola as well as viollin - and also the viola d'amore, on which he has performed e.g. ion Bach's St. John Passion with the Montreal Symphony.
Their program brings much new literature to most of us:
GIACOMO MERCHI (1730-1789): Duo for guitar et violin, Op. 12, no. 3; PIERRE GAVINIÈS (1828-1800): Sonata for violin and continuo, Op. 1, no. 2 ; CHRISTOPH W. GLUCK (1714-1787): Overture from Iphigénie en Aulide arranged for guitar and violin by Pierre Porro (1750-1831); •B. VIDAL (?-c.1800): Sonata for guitar with violin accompaniment, Op. 8, no. 1 ; ANTOINE DE LHOYER (1768-1852): Sonata for guitar with violin accompaniment, Op. 17, no. 1; JEAN-PIERRE GUIGNON (1702-1774) and B. VIDAL : Selected variations on La Folia
