Dave & Paul work perfectly together on stage and can bring an audience to its feet with excitement – or to its knees with pure emotion. They complement each others’ songs and styles so well, culled from their decades long friendship.
David Bradstreet - a working musician for over forty years - is widely known for his work as a composer, songwriter and vocalist. Fourteen albums bear his name. He won a high-profile JUNO Award early in his career and has received several JUNO nominations. His many music credits including film and television soundtracks and scoring, talent discovery, and record production for a variety of artists set him apart as one of the great contributors to Canada's musical fabric. Born in England, David came to Canada with his parents in his early years. After high school he studied architecture and started his musical career as a solo performer on the college coffeehouse circuit in the U.S. for three years. He spent two years in New York City working with Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary) and famed producer Phil Ramone. He teamed up with Lazarus and Albert Grossman in Woodstock NY and toured with Todd Rundgren. After returning to Canada, one of his songs, “Renaissance”, became a folk standard – followed by the JUNO for Best New Male Vocalist 1977. The late ’70s saw two high profile albums on A&M, “David Bradstreet” and “Dreaming in Colour”, which led to major tours, concert and broadcast appearances. His most recent release is "Best Foot Forward" (2021).
Paul Mills has been part of the Canadian folk music scene and recording industry for over 40 years. He has been part of many different bands and also performed extensively as a solo act at festivals, clubs and concert halls all over Canada, sometimes under the name of his alter-ego, Curly Boy Stubbs! He’s a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and does a wide variety of songs, both serious and humorous. He has produced more than 200 albums for artists such as Stan Rogers, Ron Hynes, Laura Smith, and John Allan Cameron. He is a founding partner of Borealis Records. Albums he has produced or engineered have earned 4 gold records, 2 platinum records, 6 Juno nominations & 2 wins, plus 5 East Coast Music Awards. Paul received the Order of Canada in 2017 and was inducted into the London Music Hall of Fame in 2021.
