The Majdi Bou-Matar Memorial Bursary is an annual bursary that is dedicated to offering financial support as well as mentorship from MT Space to a newcomer, immigrant, and/or emerging artist each year. The purpose of the bursary is to maintain Majdi's legacy, honor his struggles, and alleviate some of the challenges he faced. 

We invite you to join us in continuing Majdi’s impact and making a contribution to the bursary fund in his honour. Gather with us to experience 'Adrenaline' by Ahmad Meree and be with the community as we share a meal following the performance. Help us to keep filling the empty space.

'Adrenaline' takes you on a poignant journey through the eyes of Jaber, a Syrian refugee navigating his first New Year's Eve in Canada. As Jaber prepares to celebrate amidst a new culture, he delves into the memories of his war-torn homeland. Using everyday objects, he unpacks the profound impact of war and contemplates the sacrifices he made to find safety and solace in Canada.
Ahmad Meree, an acclaimed Syrian Canadian actor, playwright, and producer, weaves a narrative that explores the effects of conflict and the refugee experience with raw emotion and authenticity. 'Adrenaline' is not just a play; it's an opportunity to connect, empathize, and gain a deeper understanding of the refugee journey. Step into the world of Jaber and witness the strength and vulnerability that define the human experience.

This performance of 'Adrenaline' on Nov 30th, 2023 coincides with our 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign to raise funds for The Majdi Bou-Matar Memorial Bursary.

MT Space continues to seek potential partners, ongoing fundraising efforts, and establishing an endowment fund to secure the longevity of the bursary.
