Join Mark Fewer, the Bergmann Duo, and others for a dynamic and iconic performance of Carmina Burana by German composer Carl Orff. This colourful and boisterous cantata composed in Germany in 1935-1936, Orff’s Carmina Burana is based on 24 poems from a medieval collection of the same name, originally written in the 11th or 12th century. Opening and closing the contata is the shattering ‘O Fortuna’ chorus, bookending an hour-or-so of music for soloists, adult and youth choirs, and orchestra.
The Bergmann Duo’s dynamic performances feature an eclectic mix of classical, contemporary, and original works. They have inspired audiences worldwide, performing both in concert and with orchestras across North America, Europe, and Asia. Highlights include appearances at renowned festivals such as the Festival of the Sound, Ottawa Chamberfest, and the Banff Arts Festival.
