With loneliness and social isolation on the rise, connection and belonging are increasingly recognized as essential to healthy communities. We must move beyond viewing community only as programs or activities and acknowledge the vital role that people and institutions play in fostering meaningful connections and lasting resilience.
United Way believes that building strong, connected communities is key to facing local challenges including poverty, housing people, and supporting mental health and well-being. We are committed to having the conversations, and building the relationships, to help ensure everyone can feel as though they are truly part of the of the place they call home.
Join us for a full-day workshop as we explore the importance of belonging and its current state in the communities of Huron and Perth. Together, we will watch a documentary on community trends, followed by an engaging conversation on the power of connection. We'll discuss how we can shift our mindsets to prioritize belonging in our activities, programs, and planning.
This event is open to everyone in the community! Whether you're a student, a working professional, new to your community, retiree, or anywhere in between, this day is for you. Come be part of the conversation—we can’t wait to see you there!
