Here Among the Evergreens
As Advent approaches, Strata Vocal Ensemble presents a program to embrace winter’s eve. Featuring John Rutter’s cycle “When Icicles Hang,” with words by Campion, Shakespeare, and anon., we will also sing “Exultate Justi in Domino” by Italian composer, teacher, and Franciscan friar Lodovico Viadana and Scarlatti’s beautiful “Lodovico Viadana.” Two beautiful settings of the Magnificat, by Gabrieli and C. V. Stanford, are also on the program, along with the young Canadian composer Emile Deedes-Vincke’s “Winter.” Come and let your hearts be warmed by song as we usher in the Advent season!
