EVENT DESCRIPTION: For well over a century, County people have been adapting and re-using buildings for their homes and businesses, and also to support their communities. Sometimes buildings have been moved and reused ... even moved multiple times by a series of resourceful and creative owners! In this presentation, Liz Driver, President of the Prince Edward County Heritage Conservancy, will share photographs and stories of over 50 examples of adaptive re-use in Prince Edward County, for a wide range of different building types. This is a reprise of a presentation that Liz did at the June 2025 Ontario Heritage Conference, in Picton, for attendees from across the province. Refreshments follow the slide show.
The PEC Heritage Conservancy (formerly a branch of Architectural Conservancy of Ontario) is proud to present our first event as an independent organization committed to our local purpose: Through education and advocacy, we encourage the conservation and reuse of Prince Edward County's structures, districts and landscapes of architectural, historic and cultural significance.
Cutoff is Sunday, November 23, 2025 10:59 am EST unless it sells out earlier.
