The Yellow Point Drama Group “Agreement for a safe, respectful working environment and professional code of conduct”.
The Yellow Point Drama Group is committed to a policy which provides a respectful, safe and healthy space for members of all ages, races, gender identities, sexual orientations and religious beliefs. Our code of conduct has been adapted from the Canadian Code of Conduct for the Performing Arts. In order for this policy to succeed, we require every individual involved with The Yellow Point Drama Group conform to the following:
-encourage an environment for the creative process which provides transparent communication and promote mutual respect ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all participants
-avoid exhibiting behaviour physically, verbally, or in writing (including email and social media) that could be considered as degrading, discriminatory, sexualized, exclusive or harassing respect the privacy of others when they are changing backstage or in dressing rooms
-when working with youth and children, always work in an open environment, avoiding private and unobserved situations, and maintain a safe and appropriate distance
-treat property and facilities belonging to or rented by YPDG with care
-refrain from possessing and/or consuming alcohol on the stage and/or backstage areas during all rehearsals and performances
-not engage in activities which are illegal, improper or in conflict with YPDG interests
-adhere to all provincial health mandates and environmental protocols during all YPDG activities
-respect environmental and legal protocols and adhere to local policies including the non-smoking and scent free environment
-attend scheduled commitments on time or make every effort to notify the person in charge when unable to do so
-maintain the confidentiality of personal information received during their activities and not use this information to further their own private interests or the interest of their friends or relatives (e.g. using YPDG email lists to promote your own personal interests)
-treat all YPDG patrons with friendliness and respect
At any time, if you feel that you have been treated in a disrespectful manner by any YPDG participant and do not feel that you can resolve the issue directly, you are encouraged to contact any member of the Board of Directors. We will ensure that your concern is addressed promptly and effectively.
By becoming a member, I confirm that I have read, understand and hereby agree to ensure that my behaviour during my involvement with The Yellow Point Drama Group will always be consistent with the "Agreement for a safe, respectful working environment and professional code of conduct" and in not complying will be subject to having my membership and privileges with YPDG revoked.
