His western heritage, cattle drives, wagon treks, and working folks with ties to the land have all been an inspiration for the lyrical imagery in his songs. In 2005 this Juno Award winner was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Gary still tours extensively and looks back on a rewarding career and gratefully acknowledges the hundreds of town and cities and thousands of listeners who have been touched by his music. With his finger style acoustic guitar, gentle vocals, colorful stories, Gary takes his western roots music to the people with a rare sincerity. Gary and his wife Lynne make their home on Canada's west coast. His lifelong love for Lynne, their four daughters and their many grandchildren is lovingly illustrated in many of his songs. Ryan Cook - An award-winning singer/songwriter from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Ryan Cook has been broadcasting his songs and stories to varied audiences of roots, folk, and Country/Western music since 2007. Across Canada and beyond, Ryan has been a breath of fresh air on radio airwaves, blending the nostalgia of classic country with the satire of a modern troubadour. Raised in a large dairy-farming family, Ryan did all he could to outrun the expected clichés of cowboy culture. In fact, he started his music career in punk rock and heavy metal garage bands as a teenager, helping to shape a popular Yarmouth music scene along with artists, Brian Borcherdt (Holy F*ck) and Paul Murphy (Wintersleep). In college, Ryan worked part-time at a retirement home where he began taking requests to play traditional Country music and soon found himself falling for the sounds of Hank Williams, Roger Miller and Tom T. Hall. In 2008, Ryan entered the studio with his then touring band, Sunny Acres, and released the debut LP Hot Times. The record won a Music Nova Scotia Country/Bluegrass Recording of the Year award, was nominated for an East Coast Music Award and named the 8th Best Canadian Country Album of 2008 by Country Music News.
