Devin Cuddy, Sam Taylor, Katy Carswell and Fifty Seven Canvas presented by www.themanuelplay.com: Devin Cuddy studied jazz music at York University and is a Toronto based piano player whose sound (to be heard soon on a highly anticipated September 2012 album) is an engaging mix of Country, New Orleans and Blues. He recorded the album at Blue Rodeo's Woodshed studio in Toronto and Devin himself prizes the influence that his father (Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo) has had on his development as an artist: "...my passion for music grew out of being surrounded by it for so long," also noting that he and his siblings (a 23-year-old sister and a 20-year-old brother) developed their musical tastes by picking through their dad's vast collection of CDs. "We all play instruments so I would say that would probably be the biggest influence, for sure, as well as his professionalism and his career, and (Blue Rodeo's) impact on Canadian culture. Devin played piano on several tracks for his dad's latest solo album, "Skyscraper Soul," and his 2006 release, "The Light That Guides You Home." Talented blues guitarist Sam Taylor helps open the show along with London songstress Katy Carswell and the group Fifty Seven Canvas.
