A film that’s every bit as audacious as its title, director Nicole Bazuin’s bold and very engaging documentary puts a spotlight on the experiences and insights of its subject. Andrea Werhun was a struggling university student and aspiring writer in Toronto when she began working as an escort and exotic dancer and what she learned on the job may surprise you. Combining a brash and colourful visual sensibility with disarming frankness and humour, Bazuin and Werhun aim to upend assumptions and prejudices about sex work and sex workers and counter the toxic stereotypes with a more accurate and empowered array of representations.
