Join us for an inspiring evening with Sara Curruchich, one of the most important Indigenous voices in contemporary Latin American music.
Born in San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala, Sara Curruchich is a Maya Kaqchikel singer-songwriter, activist, and trailblazer whose music bridges ancestral traditions and modern realities. Singing in both Kaqchikel—her mother tongue—and Spanish, Sara blends folk, rock, and Indigenous musical elements to create songs that are at once intimate, powerful, and deeply rooted in cultural identity.
As the first Maya artist to achieve international recognition, Sara has become a global ambassador for Indigenous peoples, gender equality, and social justice. Her music carries the stories, resilience, and aspirations of her community, transforming personal experiences into universal messages of dignity, remembrance, and hope. Through every lyric and melody, she invites audiences to reflect on history, celebrate cultural diversity, and imagine a more inclusive future.
A captivating live performer, Sara has appeared on renowned stages around the world, including SXSW, Celebrate Brooklyn, the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and Café de la Danse in Paris. Her acclaimed album Mujer Indígena has connected with audiences across continents, while her work as a UN Women HeForShe spokesperson has further amplified her impact beyond music. In 2024, The Washington Post named her one of its “Can't Miss Concerts.”
Experience an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and cultural connection with one of Guatemala’s most compelling artistic voices.
