Deaf public speaker, Nathan Jesper, has arrived at his venue, desperately late. However, as he launches into his speech, he soon realizes that things are not what they seem.

A new play by Edmonton-based Deaf performer and writer Chris Dodd, Deafy is a tragicomedy that weaves spoken English, ASL and surtitles—which leads the audience on an unexpected journey of discovering what it really means to belong.

A FEW REMINDERS

• In the event of inclement weather, look out for an email in advance regarding a rain plan for performances at outdoor venues.
• For shows at outdoor venues, bring: Weather-appropriate clothing (i.e., raincoats) and/or blankets (no umbrellas please).
• Bathrooms: Bathrooms will be nearby and accessible, but not within, any of the outdoor venues – so plan your trip accordingly.
• Accessibility: If you need to be seated in a specific place due to accessibility needs, please let MT Space staff know as soon as possible at tickets@mtspace.ca and plan to arrive 30-40min before the performance to be seated.
• Late Arrivals: Please plan on arriving with time to spare before a show starts; late arrivals will not be permitted after 15 minutes into the performance.
• Festival Bar: You can attend the Festival Bar (TWH Social) after performances – open 9pm until late most nights! (see the Festival programme for details)
