Marc is an extraordinary pianist who was brought up in London down the road. He moved to Germany many years ago, where he taught at the Hochschule fuer Musik Theater und Medien Hannover for 10 years, and is currently on Faculty at the Dr Hochs Conservatory in Frankfurt, Germany, the Accademia del Ridotto in Stradella, Italy, and the Center for Music and Language – ZMSHannover, in Hannover, Germany.
He holds multiple degrees from the University of Toronto, the Royal Conservatory, and the Hannover Hochschule among others.
Marc Toth's special enterprise of performing all the Beethoven Piano Sonatas was interrupted by the Covid pandemic. We are now able to resume after a two years' absence. His talks introducing the music are gems!
In this final of his eight concerts, we have Sonatas nos.
10 (op. 10 no. 3 in /?D),
13 (op. 27 no. 1 - "'Sonata quasi una fantasia'")
15, (op. 28 in Ab) 22 (op. 81a, "Les adieux" (Farewell)) and
no. 32, op. 111 in c minor) - some think this the Greatest Work of Keyboard Music! It's amazing!
