Alexander Tselyakov was already a major name in Russian piano circles when he decided to immigrate, with his family, to Israel, which was his setepping stone to Canada. KWCMS was one of the first to haove him play - and he has performed for us almost every year since. Audiences revel in his virtuosity but he is also a very sensitive interpretor of the works of Debussy, Chopin, Beethoven, and much else. A concert by him always satisfies!
Program: Beethoven, Sonata no. 14 ("Moonlight"); Debussy Estampes -Pagodes ("Pagodas"), La soiree dans Grenada ("Evening in Grenada") and Jardins sous la pluie ("Gardens in the Rain"); andBrahms: Sonata no. 3 in f, op. 5 (this sonata by the oyoung Brahms has been called (by Robert Silverman) one of the two significant sonatas of the romantic era (the other being Liszt's). This program is made up of "signature" tunes of Tselyakov's!
