Judith Souman attended WLU where her capabilities with the viola were soon noticed. Indeed, she achieved something like prowess over this much-derided instrument!
Over the years we have put on a few viola concerts by outstanding masters. Perhaps this violist will be joining their ranks!
Bethj Ann de Soousa has been on the Faculty of Music at WLU for many years. She has accompanied many artists here and elsewhere, and is a reliable, known quantity!
Program: Nadia Boulanger, Three pieces; Libby Larson, sonata for viola and piano (Ms. Larson is another noted American composer of the day); Rebecca Clarke, Sonata for viola and piano [widely regarded as the viola sonata - this remarkable work is on practically every program for viola and piano! - and not just because there are so few of them!]
