Here at KCFF, every day is national Canadian film day! But, for one day a year, our friends at Reel Canada organize celebrations from coast-to-coast-to-coast, highlighting and showcasing our national cinema on a grand scale. This year, the official National Canadian Film Day is April 17 and the works of heavy-hitters like Cronenberg, Polley, Villeneuve, Egoyan, and many others will be on display.
KCFF is participating in National Canadian Film Day by highlighting films with a connection to Kingston! We've assembled a package of locally produced short films that were audience favourites at our recently completed festival this past winter. The lineup will include:
I FOUND IT AT CLASSIC VIDEO (Braden Dragomir)
BIRD HOSTAGE (Lauren Andrews)
THE SCRAPPED (Suzanne Lacey)
MY CONVERSATION WITH ELLE (Nicholas Patrick Afchain)
LONELY COUNTRY (James Perry) *award winner at KCFF24
WINSOM (Braden Dragomir) *award winner at KCFF24
The screening is FREE, thanks to the support of Reel Canada! The screening will be followed by a Q&A with some of the directors/crew in attendance.
The content of this program is suitable for most ages and audiences, however viewer discretion is advised. Content warning: explicit language.
