In this workshop, we will look at sound recording and basics of microphone placement, acoustic and recording behaviour of sound waves (specifically in homes/untreated rooms), stereo microphone placements & options, and other topics about home sound recording and creative approaches to production for musicians/creatives. We will also look at live setups.
Music producer and engineer Beau Cassidy (he/him) is a leader in setting the standard for a new generation of music and audio experts. Beau works as an independent contractor and freelance engineer/producer for a variety of clientele, including Universal Music Canada’s 80A Studios and Revolution Recording. Beau also mixes in Dolby Atmos and works weekly out of Raventape Studio, a private east-end facility owned & operated by Robbie Grunwald and Alex Gamble. Beau’s production style varies from euphoric, high energy dance to gritty punk. Beau also teaches Recording in the Music for Screen and Stage program at Sheridan College.
